Chandigarh, March, 2014

Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee (CTCC) on Tuesday said BJP leader Mr. Satya Pal Jain was unaware of legalities even when he was himself a lawyer.

Referring to the BJP complaint alleging anomalies in the nomination filed by Congress candidate Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal, the Congress said Jain has shown his ignorance of the law by filing such a misleading complaint which was over-ruled by the Returning Officer.

Senior BJP leader and former MP Satya Pal Jain, who is a proposer of BJP nominee from the seat Kirron Kher had told the the RO that "the form A and B field by Bansal along with his nomination form is not in the "Prescribed Form". In a statement, Congress Spokespersons, Mr. Pardeep Chhabra, Mr. Ravinder Palli, Mrs. Lalit Joshi, Mr. Amarjit Sethi and Davinder Lubana said, “He is a lawyer and should know about all the legalities. “It was not the first time Mr. Bansal had filed his nomination papers. He has so far filed nominations seven times and Mr. Jain should not forget that of these 7 nominations, Jain had himself lost thrice.” They said the nature of the objection raised by BJP was frivolous and only an attempt to gain cheap publicity by the party. The Congress leaders added, BJP cannot talk about issues and development in city and hence was depending on negativity and falsehood.

They even added that when Mr Bansal reached there, Mr Jain was mum on the issue and later submitted the complaint which only proves his lack of knowledge, his attitude and political vendetta.

Chandigarh, March, 2014:

Chandigarh unit of the Mahila Congress today came down heavily against BJP candidate Kirron Kher. A statement issued by the party said, “The party candidate has been exposed through this complaint. The affidavit signed by Kirron Kher is wrong as this is an HUF (Hindu Undivided Family) property and there is no partition till date.

The complaint had further stated that the said properties have been challenged in the court and Kher cannot mention/declare the same property which is sub judice before the trial court and the court has kept the mutation of the said properties in abeyance.
