MP Pawan Kumar Bansal assures streamlining ration cards process

Chandigarh: January: Chandigarh MP Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal has assured the residents of Hallomajra and other such areas that they would get their ration cards and any hindrance in the process would be looked into.

Mr Bansal said this while addressing the gathering at a “Mahila Sammelan” program organized by the Chandigarh Territorial Congress Colony Cell. The residents of the village had raised the issue stating that despite residing in the city for several years, they did not had identity proofs and also that due to the reason they were facing difficulties in getting ration from fair price shops.

Mr Bansal not only assured them that all such residents would get ration cards but also said that looking into the problems being faced by residents in getting the ration from fair prices shops, he had taken up the matter with the administration
who had agreed to increase the number of shops from existing 60 to 100.

Mr Bansal, accompanied by his wife Madhu Bansal, was in Hallomajra to attend the samellan in which prominent BSP leader from Hallomajra, Arti today joined congress party.  Arti criticized the anti people policies of BSP.

Addressing the gathering Pawan Kumar Bansal stressed on the need of a policy in Chandigarh to allow the construction of housing societies in villages as was being done in neighboring state Punjab in Zirakpur. For the purpose, norms could be
formulated and enforced strictly, Bansal said. He also advocated for construction of houses not only for people from below poverty line but also those who were in low income group and could not afford to buy houses. 

The residents of the colony spoke about the problems being faced by them in Halllomajra. They said sewerage and lack of proper roads was main problems that needed to be addressed on priority. A section of residents openly criticized the BSP
councilor Jannat Jahan for her failure to take up their issued in municipal corporation.

Chairman of Chandigarh Territorial Congress Colony Cell, Shashi Shanker Tiwari also spoke about the problems of residents in the area and lack of initiative by sitting municipal councilor Jannat Jahan in resolving the problems.

Sita Ram, a resident of Deep Complex while addressing the gathering thanked Bansal for getting the sewerage and drinking water supply approved for the complex. Bansal informed them that the work would soon start on it.

Former Chandigarh Mayor, Pardeep Chhabra, Congress women cell president, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Chandigarh Congress Committee General Secretary, Pawan Sharma, congress leader, Yadwinder Mehta, former youth congress president, Gurpreet Singh Gabi. Ex
